D., a woman from Kosovo, recently reached out to us with a powerful testimony of the breadth and depth of God’s salvation. D begins by telling about a very difficult time in her life as a follower of Christ:
I was raised in a family where women do not matter. This had damaged me more than I thought. I saw myself as a mistake and a failure and I believed whatever was spoken over me. I am the only believer in my family. They all believe in Islam, though they do not study much.
My father and brothers have been very abusive emotionally and verbally since I became a believer. And listening to all of their words, I started to believe that I was what they said I was.
I believed that Jesus died to give me eternal life, but I had no faith at all that he could do anything for this hell-life I was living in. I had reached a point that I didn’t want to live anymore.
But this is not the end of her story. Through Radio 7 Kosovo, the Word of God gave her hope and taught her to fellowship with the Lord in the midst of her trials:
One day, I was so desperate and I heard the most beautiful message from pastor Jeton speaking about the Bible and how we can trust the Bible.
He explained so well the attributes of God and that HE never changes. No matter our circumstances God never changes and no matter how we feel we should feed ourselves with His Word. His word is powerful to bring change. I wrote down what pastor Jeton said: “Knowing God through His Word is the biggest privilege we have as believers.” I keep this word in front of my eyes.
And as I begin studying the Word of God more, I learned how to FIGHT my battles with Jesus. This program literally saved my life. I can’t thank you enough for helping me to see myself through the eyes of the Scripture.
Through Jesus Christ’s work on the cross, we are reconciled to our maker through faith, and yet, as D. reminds us, this salvation is deeper than a one-time event. It is an ongoing salvation, where the Lord walks with us through this life on earth, saving us day after day.
We hope her testimony is as much of an encouragement to you as it has been for us!
