Residents who convert to Christianity from the traditional local religions in Cameroon are often met with hostility and persecution. The United States Department of State 2022 Report on International Religious Freedom revealed that because religion, ethnicity, and political ideology are closely linked, it was often difficult to determine whether incidents were predominantly motivated by religion. Radicals often infiltrate church services and desecrate the building, even kidnapping numerous religious leaders and dozens of seminary students. With so much animosity towards Christians, many fellow believers around the world are concerned with how to best support those struggling with persecution.
For those in Cameroon who are curious about the truth of the Gospel, it can be difficult to find a safe place where the message of the Bible can be shared. That is why our strategy of using radio broadcasts is perfectly positioned to best spread God’s Word. Christians afraid of persecution are able to find comfort in the daily broadcasts, while those looking to hear the Good News for the first time have easy access to the Gospel in their local language.
It is our mission to share about the love of Jesus in local languages in even the most remote or heavily persecuted areas. It’s clear that people in this region are desperate for the Truth, but with so much turmoil threatening their wellbeing, they often don’t know where to turn. For those who want to learn more about Christ but are afraid of persecution, our broadcasts allow for the Gospel to be shared in a safe way.
Our “Voice of Salvation” broadcast is being recorded in two regional languages, Fulfulde and Bulu. For listeners who want to know more about Christ but are afraid to take that leap of faith, we are able to offer an opportunity for hope amidst the cultural persecution.
We are thrilled to expand our reach to Cameroon where millions of people who have never even heard the Gospel or are looking for a community of believers amidst the rampant persecution can find it through our new broadcast which targets the main region where the Word of God has not yet been spread.
