Radio offers an avenue that can reach people in ways traditional mission work cannot. With its ease and accessibility, radio opens the doors for millions of listeners all around the world to hear the message of hope and salvation, and we are thrilled to see what the Lord is going to do in North Macedonia and Cameroon. These two regions, both of which launched programming in 2023, are in prime areas to see Christianity grow, and we are honored to take our ministry to those in desperate need of the Gospel.
Cameroon
In Cameroon, those who convert to Christianity from Islam are faced with extreme hostility from their families and local communities. Additionally, the Islamic influence prevalent in the region directly impacts the local Church, making it difficult for believers to distinguish the truth of the Gospel. Those who are curious about Christ must proceed with extreme caution or risk humiliation and even physical violence. As mentioned in a previous blog post, traditional mission work to reach the people in Cameroon can prove dangerous due to the lack of reliable roads, poor transportation facilities, extreme persecution, and other difficult travel means. By utilizing radio broadcasts in these and other areas of the world, we are able to reach those who would otherwise be unreachable.
North Macedonia
North Macedonia is predominately Christian, yet much of the religion in the region practices traditional folklore. For example, many still practice forms of non-Christian beliefs, one of which is – they can be cursed by someone giving them the evil eye. The need for the true Gospel message is great, especially with the rapid growth of Islam. Unfortunately, few there are able and willing to make a difference.
Reaching the lost
We are constantly trying to reach those who either haven’t heard the Gospel or live in a region where it is unsafe to live out their Christian faith. This is why we are utilizing radio broadcasts and our ‘boots on the ground’ partners to reach the people in Cameroon and North Macedonia. By sharing the truth of the Gospel in the heart languages of their listeners, or the languages they were born to speak, it opens the door for follow up, allowing our boots on the ground to make personal connections as they meet with those who contact them for more information and are interested in hearing more about a relationship with Jesus.
Every new language and country are a cause for celebration, and we are thrilled to have reached these new regions with our radio broadcasts. It is exciting to have already witnessed how the life-changing Gospel has impacted listeners, and we look forward to seeing how the Holy Spirit works to shape these nations for His glory.
