Prayer Walk for Cameroon

May 13, 2025

Our Race to Share the Gospel Family Fun Day is this Saturday, but if you cannot join us in person, consider signing up for the Virtual Challenge. This is a self-paced challenge to run, walk, bike, hike, or even swim 13 miles over 16 days. After signing up, you will receive instructions on how to track your progress as you virtually navigate the city streets of Douala in Cameroon, where our ministry is headquartered.

The Virtual Challenge is an opportunity to engage in the spiritual disciple of [virtual] prayer walking. This is a simple spiritual discipline: praying for the place and its people as you walk through (or run, bike, or swim). By inviting God’s presence over Douala, you are helping prepare the soil there for Kingdom work, lifting up our team and enabling them to more effectively minister to the city.

Douala, the largest city in Cameroon and the country’s economic center, is home to bustling markets, crowded streets, and more than 4 million people. We are continually encouraged by the positive reports we hear about progress in reaching the lost there and disciplining believers (you can read more here). With the support of your prayers may this momentum continue and we see even more brothers and sisters come into the Kingdom.

The city of Douala and our ministry team are not the only ones who benefit from your intercessory prayers. Virtual Challenge participants receive spiritual and physical benefits, communing with the Living God while exercising and burning some calories. It’s a win-win!

Beyond the Virtual Challenge, there are endless opportunities for prayer walking right where we live. It may be a school in our neighborhood, or a family playing in a park, or the homes in our cul-de-sac – all are places which are waiting for the blessing of your prayers.

We hope that you experience the deep joy fellowship of the Lord as you run, walk, bike, or swim. Happy trails!
