Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. – Matthew 11:28
We aren’t playing Red Rover, the childhood game where kids divide into teams facing each other, lock hands, and call out the name of someone on the other side. It is a dare for the other person to try to power through the line. When they find they don’t have what it takes to get through, some kids walk away with bruised bodies. Some walk away with bruised egos.
Thinking about this game as an adult, it’s not much fun. We aren’t playing. Neither is Jesus!
Jesus isn’t waiting for people to try to break through by their own power, only to be rejected by a Mighty Fortress who mocks their weakness. Instead of embarrassing people by His strength, He invites them, in their humble state, to come to Him and trust in His strength to give them entrance into the Kingdom of Heaven.
Jesus calls out to all. If Jesus is calling for all, then we should call for all, as well. That’s what you do through your support of The Tide ministry. Through The Tide ministry, you amplify Jesus’ call. You relay to listeners that their man-made methods of obtaining peace are an ineffective, heavy yoke around their neck. Keeping rules to be saved is a heavy yoke. Being “good enough” to be saved is a heavy yoke. Anything and everything a person does to power through and earn their salvation is a heavy yoke. Jesus’ yoke is easy. It is: come to Him, accept the free gift of salvation that comes through His grace.
Take a moment to think about the heavy yokes that Jesus has taken off of you and the peace you have in Him. Give thanks that He invited all… and that meant you. Also think about those in Zimbabwe who are included in that “all.” They have endured many hardships over recent decades and need to find strength in Jesus. The Tide ministry is currently applying for three broadcast licenses that will give the ministry greater independence and greater reach. If the licenses are approved, the potential audience will grow by about 200,000 people. Through The Tide ministry, your voice will carry much farther as you call out for people to trade in their heavy yokes for Jesus’ grace and mercy.
Thank God that He called you.
Pray for someone you know who has not responded to the Gospel.
Pray that the license applications are approved and that God provides the financial resources to launch these three stations in Zimbabwe.
