Punjabi People of Pakistan Learn the Truth About Jesus

August 18, 2025

In January of 2025 we expanded our outreach in Pakistan to include programming in the Punjabi language. Even though Urdu (along with English) is the official language of Pakistan, Punjabi is one of the most widely spoken languages in Pakistan. In fact, over a third of all the people in Pakistan speak Punjabi as their first language, or what we commonly refer to as their heart language. These people are deeply rooted in a vibrant and strongly influential culture. At times, this cultural strength can even seem to overshadow their religious practices. Providing Biblical truth in their own language instead of the commonly used Urdu captures the attention and creates a unique point of connection with our listeners, drawing them in with a sense of familiarity and relevance.

We are truly grateful to the Lord that the culturally sensitive format of our programs is playing a vital role in guiding our audience toward the knowledge and love of God. This new series of Punjabi programs is based on the gospel accounts of the miracles performed by Jesus Christ. Focusing on the supernatural power and might of Christ has allowed us to present Him as divine — not just a historical figure, but a living, active presence capable of transforming lives.

The miracles featured throughout this series have deeply moved our listeners, sparking heartfelt responses and growing attention. There is always a deep human longing for the miraculous — a breakthrough, a healing, a sign of hope, which is why our program content has centered on Christ’s power to heal, restore, and renew lives.

Though we face challenges with cultural pushback, spiritual resistance, and logistical hurdles, we also experience the unmistakable joy of seeing the Gospel planted in hearts. Many have begun reaching out privately with their questions and reflections. To us, this is a clear sign that seeds are being sown in good soil. In each episode, we have highlighted how every miracle carries both a physical and spiritual dimension, offering not just relief from suffering, but a deeper invitation to faith and transformation. The effectiveness of this approach is demonstrated in the following sample of very thoughtful responses from our audience.

Listener from Sialkot, Punjab

This program was presented in the voice of Brother Emmanuel. The guest in the program was Danish. He shared God’s Word with us, and it was a delight to listen to the program. The truth was spoken, and a way was shown to bring goodness into one’s life.

Listener from Jhang, Punjab

I truly enjoyed listening to the Zindagi Da Chanan (The Light of Life) program. Brother Adil beautifully shared insights from the Word of God. Listening to the message in the Punjabi language brought great peace to my heart, and I was able to understand the words more clearly. From today’s message, we learned how God healed a man born blind. And as Pastor Akash explained, God said, “I am the Light of the World.” We must walk with the Lord so we remain in the light and not stay blind while living in this world. When we accept Christ, we receive the Light of Life. Even today, we are blind in our sins. We must seek to see God’s glory and His light and walk in it so that our eyes may be opened.
