Humble Beginnings Lead to Reaching the World with the Gospel

77 years ago, Reverend Charlie Byers set out to put the Gospel message on the airwaves. What came from this vision was ā€œThe Gospel Tide Hour,ā€ debuting in 1946 from Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. The initial goal was to reach the local community with the Good News of Christ, and the people in the area clamored to hear biblical truths in their own homes over the radio.

Fast forward 77 years later, and what was ā€œThe Gospel Tide Hourā€ has become The TideĀ® ministrya global network of media initiatives that share the Gospel daily in multiple languages on three continents. Our gospel footprint touches millions of people including those in Afghanistan, Albania, Bhutan, Cameroon, India, Kosovo, Mozambique, Nepal, Pakistan, Thailand, Zimbabwe, and the Middle East.

The excitement people in Chambersburg experienced in 1946 when they heard the Gospel through ā€˜The Gospel Tide Hourā€™ is mirrored and magnified today. Many people around the globe find joy and hope when they hear of salvation through Christ in their own language ā€” most for the first time.

What makesĀ ourĀ ministry unique is the dedication to sharing the Gospel in heart languages, or the languages people are born to speak. By utilizing regional dialects for the broadcasts,Ā we open the door to the Gospel for thousands of listeners who otherwise would never have been able to hear the Good News.Ā Our ministry partners with local ministries or pastors who share the same vision to learn how to best reach local communities.

It is because of YOU that we are able to share the Good News of Jesus throughout the world. We invite you to join us in the ministry through your prayer and financial support to help continue the ministry for the next 77-plus years.
