Your Soles – Their Souls

5th annual shoe drive: January 2 – March 31

2026 Shoe Drive:
January 2nd – March 31st

Help us with another record-breaking year by donating your new and gently worn shoes from now until March 31st!

The 2025 collection totaled 7,550 pairs of shoes, raising over $4,000! More than 50 sites from Franklin, Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, Centre, Mifflin, North Hampton, Lehigh, Adams, Montgomery, and York Counties in PA, as well as Washington County, MD, participated. This included both community and internal collection sites at churches, businesses, schools, groups, and sports teams, plus many individual donations dropped at The Tide office.

Special thanks once again to Cubes Moving & Storage of Chambersburg for their donation of a storage cube to house donated shoes during the 2026 collection!

How It Works

Each year The Tide ministry collects new and gently used shoes to fund Literacy classes in India. The shoes collected benefit microbusinesses in developing countries around the world.

Through a community effort, new or gently worn shoes are collected and donated to The Tide ministry. Our partnering organization picks up the shoes at the end of the drive and sends us money for them. The funds collected are used for The Tide Gospel Outreach Literacy Classes in India. Our ‘boots on the ground’ team in India use Biblically based material in the classes, exposing the students to the Gospel as they learn!

Our partnering organization supports micro-enterprise in 26 developing countries around the world, which is where the shoes end up. Entrepreneurs in these countries are offered the opportunity to take a 5-part micro-enterprise course that teaches them how to run a business. Once they have successfully completed all 5 modules, they are given 150 pairs of shoes to start their own microbusiness. Both the classes and initial shoes are at no charge to them. Our partners call this “a hand up, not a handout.” Once they have sold about 6-8 pairs of the shoes, they have usually earned enough to purchase another 150 pairs to keep their business going. This allows the business owners to take a step out of poverty and provide for their families at no risk to them.
