Condemning Christian Persecution as Pakistani Police Fail to Protect Local Churches

Listed as number seven on the Open Door’s World Watch List, Pakistan is no stranger to extreme persecution of Christians, which is often endured at the hands of religious extremists, as evidenced by the radical mobs that recently invaded and torched churches and homes in some predominantly Christian communities across the nation. Even as these blatant attacks against Christians are happening right in front of police, several Christians have been arrested for “foreign conspiracy” to create religious strife.

“Instead of investigating the underlying reasons for such attacks and addressing the root cause, i.e., misuse of the harsh blasphemy laws, the police are arresting and harassing innocent Christians and trying to cover up the truth behind the violent attacks in Jariwala by blaming foreign intelligence,” said Church of Pakistan President Bishop Azad Marshall.

Unfortunately, this type of persecution is commonplace in many regions all around the world. Christ warned His followers that they would be persecuted for their faith; and this prophetic Word is tragically true for believers looking to support our fellow brothers and sisters who are in the trenches of religious warfare, even today. For this reason, we are working tirelessly to fulfill the need to offer meaningful encouragement through our powerful radio broadcasts.

Christians in Pakistan are desperate for help and, while the government and police force are turning a blind eye to their plight, we can provide the hope of Christ directly to local communities.

It is up to Christians around the world to stand with our brothers and sisters in Pakistan, and around the world, and we invite you to help.
