80 Years Later: Bringing Good News to Christians Facing Persecution

February 1, 2026

In some of the world’s most difficult places to follow Jesus, hope is still clearly and courageously being spoken in the heart languages the people were born to speak. According to Open Doors’ World Watch List 2026, Pakistan (No. 8), Afghanistan (No. 11), and India (No. 12) rank among the countries where Christians face extreme persecution. These are also places where our ‘boots on the ground’ teams are faithfully sharing the Good News of Jesus through Biblically based, culturally relevant, messages. Even amid ongoing violence in Cameroon and neighboring Nigeria, where kidnappings and massacres by Fulani herdsmen continue to threaten Christian communities, the Gospel is not silent.

What started as a single program on a local radio station in central Pennsylvania in 1946 has, by God’s grace, grown into a multifaceted global ministry, currently reaching 14 countries and regions. Each step of that journey has been guided by faithful partners who believe the message of Jesus should be heard by every heart, in every culture, and in every language.

Since unveiling our Diamond Vision in 2021 during our 75th anniversary, we’ve continued to build on that legacy and now, 5 years later, we look toward our 80th anniversary, focusing on organizational strength, meaningful partnerships, and the resources needed to sustain and grow this life-changing work.

After nearly eight decades of ministry, our greatest joy has never changed—seeing lives transformed by the Gospel, especially in places where faith comes at a high cost. From our humble radio roots in Pennsylvania, to reaching listeners across Africa, Asia, and Europe, we remain committed to bringing hope, encouraging the persecuted Church, and helping raise up new generations of believers through discipleship and church planting as our ‘boots on the ground’ engage with their communities. Together, we press on until every heart has heard the life-changing message of Jesus Christ.
