October 15, 2019: The leader of an international radio ministry is calling Christians in America to wake up to the reality of the global persecution that fellow believers are facing on a daily basis. Don Shenk, who serves as the director of The Tide ministry serving the persecuted Church, says that it is important for American Christians to be aware of the atrocities being committed against believers in other parts of the world.

October 6. 2019: I often find myself scrolling through pictures from last month. My heart is filled with joy as I look at the fellowshipping groups, the sporadic worship and the genuine moments, yet I feel a longing. There are some experiences in life you never forget. Although I only spent one week in Zimbabwe, seven days have never impacted me in the way Africa has. My heart for God has been positively altered by the Christian lives in Zimbabwe.

The Tide Ministry’s Year Beard contest reaches its midpoint

August 10. 2019: Late last year, Story asked friends and acquaintances to volunteer to grow beards for portions or all of 2019 as a fundraiser for the ministry. The beard growers were asked to obtain sponsors with a goal of raising a total of $15,000. The funds will be used to help Christian outlets in 25 nations around the world buy broadcast time on radio stations in their home countries to help spread the Gospel.

Year Beards reach halfway point

July 10, 2019: After a full six months of not shaving, the beards on the faces of a group of men are getting longer, thicker and a little more unruly. But it’s all for a good cause. Fourteen men have committed to be a part of The Tide global radio ministry’s “Year Beard” challenge and vowed not to shave their beards for the entire year of 2019 to raise awareness and funds for the Chambersburg-based ministry.
