The Tide® Gospel Ministry Celebrates Lives Changed in Thailand

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.— Celebrating 75 years of service for Christ, The Tide® (www.TheTide.org)  ministry is continuing its mission of spreading the hope of Christ worldwide. The Tide® ministry tells the truth of the Gospel to people through radio broadcasts all around the world, all spoken in the heart languages people were born to speak. The Tide®ministry shares the Gospel daily in over 30 different languages in 39 countries on three continents, reaching millions of people including those in Afghanistan, Albania, Bhutan, India, Kosovo, Mozambique, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, and Zimbabwe.

Throughout the past year, the Lord has clearly been moving in Thailand. In areas that may have never heard the Good News, many people who live in these places choose “alternative” methods to heal maladies, both physical and spiritual.

The Tide® Director Don Shenk stated, “For places that have been consumed by darkness, the Gospel of Christ is a beacon of light that provides a way for people to have a meaningful relationship with God. We at The Tide® are humbled by the idea that God is still utilizing this organization to reach his lost children, and we will continue to share the message of Christ until He calls us home.”

Recent testimonials from Thailand display the power of Christ moving through the local communities. One listener wrote in, explaining that he had an accident years ago that resulted in brain trauma that left his speech and hearing impaired. The listener asked for representatives of The Tide® ministry to come and tell him more about Jesus, so the team went to minister and pray over his ailments. As they prayed, his vision grew clearer, and he began to hear their words better than previously. Both the listener, his mother, and some neighbors were led to Christ, and The Tide® ministry team is working on setting up more house churches in the area to continue the outreach.

The Tide® ministry team was also able to visit another listener who was bitten by a scorpion. Once the team prayed over her, the listener’s wound was immediately healed and she and her family accepted Christ as their Lord.

Shenk reflected on the ministry’s tangible impact in people’s lives, saying, “It is edifying to hear from viewers who are touched by the content of the programs. It is amazing when we hear from unbelievers that they have been uplifted or are now putting their faith in Christ.”

It’s stories and testimonials such as these that remind Shenk and the rest of the team at The Tide® ministry of the eternal purpose that they are working towards. As they celebrate the past 75 years of global missions, The Tide® ministry also is looking forward to the next seven decades with their plan called “The Tide® Diamond Vision:”

  • Amplify – The Tide ministry will increase ministry initiatives so that more people can experience God’s grace.
  • Magnify – The Tide ministry will work to grow its support base to an expanded demographic.
  • Solidify – The Tide ministry will develop and supply more resources to help new believers to grow in their faith and live in right relationship with God.
  • Verify – The Tide ministry will measure the effectiveness of its activities to both manage them well and to demonstrate the efficient stewardship of resources.
  • Glorify – The Tide ministry will strive to ensure that all it does to achieve its vision will bring glory to God.
