Piercing Airwaves of Buddhist Thailand to Share the Gospel

The most widespread religion in Thailand is Buddhism and its oldest surviving branch, Theravada Buddhism, is especially strong among the Isaan people of northeastern Thailand, where less than 2% of the population is Christian. Despite a culture rooted in Buddhism, Christianity continues to spread, partly through the work of our ‘boots on the ground’ there.

Many people In Thailand have either never heard of Christ or are really not sure who He is and what He has done for them. We are grateful that the Lord has opened the door for us to share the Gospel through broadcast media in these regions where many do not yet know of His love.

Currently, we are working through our ‘boots on the ground’ in Thailand to share God’s Word among the Isaan people. We are airing a 50-minute daily broadcast, as well as a 1-minute promo spot that airs hourly on several different radio stations in the Isaan language, which is spoken by 19 million people in Thailand.

In addition, we have also started a new series called “Joy at Work,” interviewing believers at their workplaces to talk about the integration of faith and work. Originally designed to be a series of videos, our team is releasing the series on the air to reach even more people with these powerful stories.

These types of programs and partnerships display the wide variety of methods our team is utilizing on the ground in Thailand. By utilizing different techniques to share the Gospel, we are reaching even more people in new and exciting ways to show them the hope of Christ. As we continue to move forward with these projects, we pray that God will direct us to the most effective methods of making these programs publicly available to Isaan listeners.

Thanks to your generous support and prayer, we are able to continue the ministry in Thailand and all around the world. To stay informed about how God is changing lives through the ministry, be sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram, and sign up for our weekly enews on our homepage.
