Persevering in Pakistan: Connecting with Listeners in Severe Persecution

Hearing the Gospel in your own language brings it to life, and using people’s heart languages is a key component of what we do here at The Tide® ministry. It allows people who have never heard the Gospel make a stronger and more intimate connection with Christ because they can understand the message on a more personal level.

Tightly bound to their religious influences from cultural tradition and pressure from their leaders, makes the people in Pakistan extremely wary of outside influences and very hesitant to respond to our programs. As Pakistani Christians become the targets of religious persecution, this attitude towards the Gospel becomes even more clear. Despite these potential hardships, we continue to share the Gospel in multiple languages and are beginning to see the fruits of our labor.

While the numbers seem small, they are still quite an accomplishment for any ministry in Pakistan, considering the remote areas that many people live in. For the Gospel to make inroads into people’s lives and communities, it is going to take time and perseverance — something to which we are ready to commit.

If only one person hears the Gospel through our radio broadcasts and is saved, it is worth it. Thankfully, people are starting to respond to the message, and this is just the beginning. We will continue to be diligent in our ministry in the area until every last person has heard the Good News or Christ returns.

We invite you to join us in sharing the Good News of Jesus with the people in Pakistan, and other areas where we work, through your prayer and financial support. Every gift means more people have the opportunity to learn about the love of Christ and is an encouragement to believers as they face the cultural pressures of society.
