CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.—Truth-seekers in Thailand have the opportunity not only to hear the The Tide® (www.thetide.org) radio ministry’s Gospel programming, but to also dive deep into scripture through daily “Walking With God” devotionals shared on the social media app called “Line.”
Thailand is one of the many, many countries across the globe experiencing uncertainty as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, and The Tide ministry is working to combat the feelings of fear and isolation with a message of hope and truth. Through 50-minute gospel programs airing in the Isaan language, the ministry is able to broadcast the gospel to 19 million people in Thailand.
“Our partners on the ‘Walking with God’ project, New Zealand Baptists, are working to create a complete set of 365 daily devotions,” said The Tide Director, Don Shenk. “These daily messages will provide Thai listeners a new encouragement to meditate on every day and support daily Scripture reading.”
Because the technology of the app allows listeners and subscribers to hear the content from anywhere, those outside Thailand can also benefit from the daily messages of hope.
The Tide ministry is celebrating their 75th anniversary of recording and broadcasting gospel programming which now extends into multiple regions on three continents with content in 30 heart languages spoken by millions of people in various countries, including Afghanistan, Albania, Bhutan, India, Kosovo, Mozambique, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, and Zimbabwe. With more than 7,000 languages spoken worldwide and more than 2,000 people groups yet unreached with the Good News of Jesus, the opportunities are tremendous.
