Celebrating the Good News of Easter

For many, Easter only means the beginning of spring, a little sunshine, and chocolate bunnies. For followers of Christ, Easter, or Resurrection Sunday, is an opportunity to celebrate the new life offered through Jesus’ death and resurrection. The Tide® is recognizing Easter as an opportunity to reflect on their reason for existing: the Gospel message.

“Without Easter, there would be no Gospel for us to share,” said Director Don Shenk. “If Jesus had not broken the chains of death on Easter Sunday, we would be hopeless slaves to sin.”

Our mission is to lead as many people as possible into a life-transforming relationship with Jesus Christ. They do so by broadcasting the truth of God’s love for his children, a love that is perfectly demonstrated through the sacrifice of his Son on the cross. Following the Apostle Paul’s message to the Corinthians, we are preaching that sacrifice as a message of first importance.

“For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that He was buried, that He was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures.” (1 Corinthians 15:3-4 ESV)

The Tide is celebrating our 75th anniversary of recording and broadcasting gospel programming which now extends into multiple regions on three continents with content in 30 heart languages spoken by millions of people in various countries, including Afghanistan, Albania, Bhutan, India, Kosovo, Mozambique, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, and Zimbabwe. With more than 7,000 languages spoken worldwide and more than 2,000 people groups yet unreached with the Good News of Jesus, the opportunities are tremendous.
