This Thanksgiving, The Tide® Broadcast Ministry Is Grateful for Listeners, Partners, and Donors Who Have Helped to Share the Gospel Around the World

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.—As Americans around the country set aside time this week to count their blessings, The Tide® global radio ministry is doing the same. Over the past year, The Tide ministry has made continued progress on three continents in nine countries through Gospel programming in 27 languages. And in 2020, more exciting projects are on the horizon.

The Tide Director Don Shenk said, “Those who get involved in various ways here at home along with the boots on the ground that we partner within each region of the world collectively form a global team that is effectively introducing people around the world to Jesus. My desire is to highlight the value of all working together and how grateful The Tide ministry is for the role everyone plays.”

Thus far in 2020, The Tide ministry is reflecting on several areas of impact:

  • The Tide ministry’s 2019 “Year Beard” challenge raised more than $27,000 for the ministry, as a group of brave men committed to growing their beards for an entire year to raise funds and awareness about the ministry’s work worldwide.
  • The Tide ministry has been able to continue sharing the Gospel message around the world amidst the coronavirus, introducing two new languages and a new country, Pakistan, to their programming.
  • Golfers supported The Tide ministry through the 42nd Annual Golf Benefit. Over the years, The Tide Annual Golf Benefit has earned the reputation as a great event that is popular among golfers of all ages and skill levels. It is one of the longest-running events at Penn National, and is regularly an at-capacity sellout.
  • This fall, The Tide ministry formed a cooperative ministry initiative to present the Gospel to the next generation in three key regions: Afghanistan, India, and the Middle East. The two ministries—who share the same goal of reaching people across the globe—are now working together by sharing resources and expertise to produce weekly evangelistic television and radio program to declare the truth about Jesus with people in the languages they were born to speak.

For nearly 75 years, The Tide ministry has recorded and broadcast gospel programming in nine countries on three continents in 27 heart languages spoken by millions of people in multiple regions, including Albania, Bhutan, India, Kosovo, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, and Zimbabwe. With more than 7,000 languages spoken worldwide and more than 2,000 people groups yet unreached with the Good News of Jesus, the opportunities are tremendous.
