The Tide® Gospel Ministry Celebrates Lives Changed in Zimbabwe

CHAMBERSBURG, Pa.— The Tide®(www.TheTide.org) ministry is continuing its mission of spreading the hope of Christ worldwide while still celebrating 75 years of global outreach. The Tide® ministry shares the Gospel daily in over 30 different languages in 39 countries on three continents, reaching millions of people including those in Afghanistan, Albania, Bhutan, India, Kosovo, Mozambique, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, and Zimbabwe.

Throughout the past year, the Lord has clearly been moving in Zimbabwe. In areas that may have never heard the Good News, many people who live in these places choose “alternative” methods to heal maladies, both physical and spiritual.

The Tide® Director Don Shenk stated, “For places that have been consumed by darkness, the Gospel of Christ is a beacon of light that provides a way for people to have a meaningful relationship with God. We at The Tide® are humbled by the idea that God is still utilizing this organization to reach his lost children, and we will continue to share the message of Christ until He calls us home.”

Many Zimbabweans identify as Christian, but a large number of them still participate in traditional African religious practices including ancestral spirit worship and witchcraft. Even though Zimbabwe has been fairly extensively evangelized there are still many who need to hear the gospel message, and others who are hungry to learn more about Jesus Christ.

This is why the need for The Tide® ministry is still so great. The ministry often receives comments and notes from listeners, thanking them for sharing the Good News and opening their eyes to the truth of the Gospel:

“Thank you for the word of God. I was blessed. I want to be liberated by the Blood of Jesus.”

“Hello, I appreciate the Word. God bless you. I was happy because of your uplifting word. Thank you.”

“How are you, pastors? I was touched by your preaching. I want to receive Jesus as Lord and Savior of my life. I want to live my life for Jesus.”

It’s stories and testimonials such as these that remind Shenk and the rest of the team at The Tide® ministry of the eternal purpose that they are working towards. As they celebrate the past 75 years of global missions, The Tide® ministry also is looking forward to the next seven decades with their plan called “The Tide® Diamond Vision:”

  • Amplify – The Tide ministry will increase ministry initiatives so that more people can experience God’s grace.
  • Magnify – The Tide ministry will work to grow its support base to an expanded demographic.
  • Solidify – The Tide ministry will develop and supply more resources to help new believers to grow in their faith and live in right relationship with God.
  • Verify – The Tide ministry will measure the effectiveness of its activities to both manage them well and to demonstrate the efficient stewardship of resources.
  • Glorify – The Tide ministry will strive to ensure that all it does to achieve its vision will bring glory to God.
