Muslim Listener Learns of God’s Love for All His Children

With a goal of spreading Christ’s hope worldwide to people of all walks of life, The Tide® reaches not only those who already practice their Christian faith by putting their trust in Jesus but also those who are far from Christ or who may never have heard of His love and grace. The Tide ministry, broadcasting the Gospel message in 30 languages on three continents, using local languages known as heart languages, spreads the Gospel’s life-altering message in Kosovo through radio programming.

“The Tide ministry is encouraged to hear listeners respond to our programs, telling us what Truth they have learned from our programming and how the Lord has worked in their lives,” said Director Don Shenk.

Because The Tide ministry broadcasts across the world, many who hear the Gospel programs are those who grew up practicing religions like Hinduism or Islam. Such religions are so integral to the people groups’ customs and traditions that hearing the Truth of Christ’s sacrifice can be scary—and understanding the Father’s love for His children is often confusing.

One Muslim listener from Kosovo wrote to The Tide to share how knowing the Truth impacted her life and helped her feel like she didn’t have to fight to earn love.

“I love listening to Radio 7 in Kosovo,” the listener wrote. “This radio station has become like a special friend to me. I come from a traditional Muslim family, but I have never been interested in religion. My parents didn’t push me, and they let me walk in life the way I wanted to. I listened for the first time to pastor Gani talking about the Bible and how the God of Christians cares for women. I live in a culture where women have to fight for everything and where sexual harassment is considered normal. Listening to how God took care of Ruth and Naomi deeply touched my heart, and since then I have listened to pastor Gani over and over again. Thank you for sharing so much wisdom and peace to weary hearts.”

Shenk reflected on the ministry’s tangible impact on people’s lives, saying, “It is edifying to hear from viewers who are touched by the content of the programs. It is amazing when we hear from unbelievers that they have been uplifted or are now putting their faith in Christ after listening to a Tide partner pastor.”
