Good News from Chhattisgarh State of India

The TideĀ® has been active in India for four decades. Good news was recently reported from the Chhattisgarh State, where the ministry first began by providing just a few radios to believers and leaders of this area. But this ministry has slowly expanded by reaching out to listeners after they hear the Word of God through The Tide programming.

ā€œWe love hearing reports of the way The Tide Gospel programming is impacting listeners in India and around the world,ā€ said The Tide Director Don Shenk. ā€œFor example, our partners in Chhattisgarh follow up with attendees to seekers meetings and pay them visits so they stay engaged with the Word. ā€˜The Good News Hour,ā€™ the radio programming from The Tide ministry in this area, was also able to help plant 13 churches, which are now dynamic, active congregations. Several of these churches have also held baptisms, where 20 new believers were baptized in the name of the Lord. The Chhattisgarh staff members were also able to start five new house churches. Despite restrictions to sharing the Gospel openly, our brothers and sisters in Christ continue sharing the Word of God in nearby villages. Our counterparts in India ask for continued prayers that the Lord would touch many hearts so they will accept Jesus as their personal savior.ā€

An additional successful ministry is in the medical realm, with The Medical Center at Patharai a great blessing to the people of that region. Patients with serious ailments such as cancer and other diseases visit Patharai to undergo treatment from the village doctor and pray for healing from God.
