Our partnering organization picks up the shoes at the end of the drive and gives us pays for the shoes. The funds collected are used for The Tide Gospel Outreach Literacy Classes in India. The ‘boots on the ground’ team in India use Biblically based material in the classes\, exposing the students to the Gospel as they learn! \nOur partnering organization supports micro-enterprise in 24 developing countries around the world\, which is where the shoes end up. Entrepreneurs in these countries are offered the opportunity to take a 5-part micro-enterprise course that teaches them how to run a business. Once they have successfully completed all 5 modules\, they are given 150 pairs of shoes to start their own microbusiness. Both the classes and initial shoes are at no charge to them. Our partners call this “a hand up\, not a handout.” Once they have sold about 6-8 pairs of the shoes\, they have usually earned enough to purchase another 150 pairs to keep their business going. This year our outing will take place on September 22nd. \n\n\n\nThis will be the 9th consecutive year for The Tide international radio ministry to host this event\, and the 5th year at Range End Golf Club in Dillsburg\, Pennsylvania. Over the years\, The Tide Annual Golf Benefit has earned the reputation as a great event that is popular among golfers of all ages and skill levels. A few hours of golf for you can help provide eternal hope for others! \n\n\n\nThis benefit will be a scramble and will kick off with a shotgun start at 8:00 AM. The cost per golfer is $95 if registered before August 22nd or $100 if registered after. The cost covers the green fees for 18 holes of golf and a golf cart. Complimentary refreshments will be available at various locations around the course and a free picnic lunch will also be provided. Please note: this opportunity is only available to the first 120 people to register. \n\n\n\nAll golfers who participate will also be entered in a drawing for a variety of door prizes\, including drivers\, irons\, golf bags\, pushcarts\, a GPS unit\, and more! On designated holes\, individuals will also be able to compete for prizes for the longest drive\, longest putt\, and closest to the pin. In addition\, a $10\,000 hole-in-one prize is being offered on the ninth hole. \n\n\n\n\n\n

Together we collected 6500+ pairs of shoes which will be used to make a difference in the lives of microbusiness owners in developing countries as they sell them to make a living to support their families. In addition\, The Tide ‘boots on the ground’ partners in India will be able to open 20 new Literacy classes to villagers\, allowing them to learn to read and write while hearing about God’s love for them. \n\n\n\n\n\nOur next Shoe Drive will be held during the 1st quarter of 2025; however\, shoes can be dropped off year-round at The Tide office. Stop by Monday – Friday from 9-4 or call ahead to be sure we are in. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nHow it works: \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nEach year The Tide ministry collects new and gently used shoes to fund Literacy classes in India. The shoes collected benefit microbusinesses in developing countries around the world.Through a community effort\, new or gently worn shoes are collected and donated to The Tide ministry. Our partnering organization picks up the shoes at the end of the drive and sends us money for them. The funds collected are used for The Tide Gospel Outreach Literacy Classes in India. Our ‘boots on the ground’ team in India use Biblically based material in the classes\, exposing the students to the Gospel as they learn!Our partnering organization supports micro-enterprise in 26 developing countries around the world\, which is where the shoes end up. Entrepreneurs in these countries are offered the opportunity to take a 5-part micro-enterprise course that teaches them how to run a business. Once they have successfully completed all 5 modules\, they are given 150 pairs of shoes to start their own microbusiness. Both the classes and initial shoes are at no charge to them. Our partners call this “a hand up\, not a handout.” Once they have sold about 6-8 pairs of the shoes\, they have usually earned enough to purchase another 150 pairs to keep their business going.
