DESCRIPTION: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe invite you to join us for this win-win-win fundraising event! \n\n\n\n– You get to clean out your closets \n\n\n\n– The Tide ministry raises funds for Gospel Outreach through Literacy Classes in India \n\n\n\n– The shoes collected allow microbusiness owners in developing countries to support their families \n\n\n\n  \n\n\n\nOur goal is to fill 100 bags of 25 pairs each. \n\n\n\nHere is how you can get involved: \n\n\n\n– Donate your new or gently worn used shoes \n\n\n\n– Promote the event in your local church\, business\, group\, or community \n\n\n\n– Be a Shoe Ambassador by placing a collection box at your local church\, business\, or group meeting (you will be in charge of the collection at these sites) \n\n\n\n– Help at a community collection location (Date and location TBD) \n\n\n\n– Help load the truck at the end of the collection period \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nHow it works:\n\n\n\nThrough a community effort\, new or gently worn shoes are collected and donated to The Tide ministry. Our partnering organization picks up the shoes at the end of the drive and gives us pays for the shoes. The funds collected are used for The Tide Gospel Outreach Literacy Classes in India. The ‘boots on the ground’ team in India use Biblically based material in the classes\, exposing the students to the Gospel as they learn!Our partnering organization supports micro-enterprise in 24 developing countries around the world\, which is where the shoes end up. Entrepreneurs in these countries are offered the opportunity to take a 5-part micro-enterprise course that teaches them how to run a business. Once they have successfully completed all 5 modules\, they are given 150 pairs of shoes to start their own microbusiness. Both the classes and initial shoes are at no charge to them. Our partners call this “a hand up\, not a handout.” Once they have sold about 6-8 pairs of the shoes\, they have usually earned enough to purchase another 150 pairs to keep their business going. SUMMARY:Race to Share the Gospel Around the World Virtual Challenge
DESCRIPTION: \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nJoin The Tide® ministry in taking God’s Word to unreached locations through your participation in the Race to Share the Gospel Around the World virtual challenge. \n\n\n\nThis year’s event will benefit our new Pashto language children’s radio program in Afghanistan and is designed for families\, friends\, and small or large groups to participate in making an eternal impact in the lives of millions around the world. \n\n\n\nThe challenge is to run\, walk\, bike\, hike\, or even swim to the finish line. The goal is 13 miles (one mile for each thousand dollars it takes to fund the project) spread across 16 days. Because this is a challenge\, and not a traditional race\, you are able to break it up over the 2-week period. Doing as little as 1-mile per day will allow you to complete the challenge in the allotted time. \n\n\n\nThis may sound like a lot . . . BUT WAIT! Over the years\, The Tide Annual Golf Benefit has earned the reputation as a great event that is popular among golfers of all ages and skill levels. A few hours of golf for you can help provide eternal hope for others! \nThis benefit will be a scramble and will kick off with a shotgun start at 8:00 AM. The cost per golfer is $85 if registered before August 9th or $90 if registered after. The cost covers the green fees for 18 holes of golf and a golf cart. Complimentary refreshments will be available at various locations around the course and a free picnic lunch will also be provided. Please note: this opportunity is only available to the first 128 people to register. \nAll golfers who participate will also be entered in a drawing for a variety of door prizes\, including drivers\, irons\, golf bags\, pushcarts\, a GPS unit\, and more! On designated holes\, individuals will also be able to compete for prizes for the longest drive\, longest putt\, and closest to the pin.
