A Renewed Mind

July 29, 2018

Our minds are exposed to a lot such as the internet and television, but God desires that we keep our minds clean. Paul says let your mind be renewed (Ephesians 4:23).

The eye: What we see feeds into our minds and affects our subconscious mind.

The ear:  What we hear affects us as well. What music do you listen to? Does it add value or it pollutes your mind?

Association: Friends, family or anyone we stick around affects what we think about. It’s said says, association determines assimilation. “Stop being deceived: ‘Wicked friends lead to evil ends.’”  (1 Corinthians 15:33 ISV)

Belief: The most important factor is what we ultimately believe. For you to grow your faith you have to feed on the word of God.

The word says, “…faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10: 17).

1 Peter 2:2 says “As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby”. Finally, “ Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life. (Proverbs 4:23).

Prayer: In the Name of Jesus Christ, Lord wash me thoroughly from my iniquity, and clean me from my sin. Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me. I thank you for your word. Amen

I have many memories of being around fires as I grew up. In the Fall as cold and winter weather began, we raked the fallen leaves and branches into piles and then set them on fire. We had to stir and turn the leaves occasionally to keep them burning.
